The new branding for Berkeley Vale Preschool beautifully reflects the essence of this educational service. With its strong focus on relationships, community, and dedicated staff, the preschool has woven its roots into the heart of its local community for 40 years.
The incorporation of Lemon Myrtle into the branding is symbolic of the preschool’s connection to the land and its commitment to Indigenous culture. Lemon Myrtle, known as the “Queen of the Lemon Herbs,” is not just a plant; it’s a living piece of Australian history. It is intertwined with the preschool, used to make cordial and baked goods for celebrations, and often gifted to visitors and community stakeholders.
The colour palette, inspired by the blues and greens of nearby Tuggerah Lake, the yellows and greens of Lemon Myrtle, and the earthy browns and oranges of the natural environment, emphasises the core values of play-based education, immersed in nature.
The hand design woven into the branch of the Lemon Myrtle symbolises the connections within the learning environment and reflects how these relationships are nurtured to support individual growth and development.
Through this branding, Berkeley Vale Preschool reinforces its strong sense of community and heritage, “living, learning, growing in the community for 40 years”.
