Berkeley Vale Preschool is funded by The NSW Department of Education who provide funding via two funding initiatives — the Start Strong Program Funding and Start Strong Affordable Preschool. These funding initiatives form part of the Department of Education’ Early Years Commitment.   

Our fee structure has three tiers: 

Funded fee: 4 years old on or before 31 July.

Partially Funded fee: 3 years old on or before 31 July. 

Equity fee: 3 years old on or before 31 July, are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent and/or hold a government Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card 

Berkeley Vale Community Preschool gives priority of access to enrolment in accordance with government funding guidelines (as amended from time to time) and The Berkeley Vale Community Preschool Enrolment Policy.

Priority of access is given to:

Priority 1

  • Children currently enrolled at Berkeley Vale Community Preschool who wish to remain for a second year of preschool and are not enrolled in school.

  • First offers are made to families residing in the Berkeley Vale to Chittaway area, for:

    • Children who are at least 4 years old on or before 31 July of that preschool year and not yet enrolled or registered at a school.

    • Siblings of children who have attended the preschool within the previous three years who are at least 4 years old on or before 31 July of that preschool year and not yet enrolled or registered at a school.

  • Children identified as being at risk of significant harm.

 

Priority 2

  • Second offers are made to families residing outside the Berkeley Vale to Chittaway area, for:

    • Children who are at least 4 years old on or before 31 July of that preschool year and not yet enrolled or registered at a school.

  • Children who are at least 3 years old on or before 31 July of that preschool year and meet one or more of the following criteria:

    • Families who hold a Health Care Card or Pension Card issued by Centrelink.

    • Children from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background.

    • Children with a disability, additional needs, or an NDIS number.

    • Children with English language needs.

Priority 3

  • Children who turn 4 after 31 July of that preschool year and who do not meet the above criteria are still welcome to join the waiting list.
